Eric Palmer - Photographer

Hi, thanks for visiting. A little about me. I first picked up a camera in High School, and from that moment, I knew that’s why I was put on this planet. I live by a quote from Diane Arbus: “I truly believe there are things in this world no one would see unless I photographed them.” So, how did I get to this point? Ever since I first stepped into a darkroom and saw an image appear out of the chemicals, I was hooked by the magic of photography.

My first professional job for Hyster Lift company was in 1990 (as a Junior in high school). I was given a budget to “photograph the Pacific NW at work.” Later, I earned a BFA in Photography from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 1995. Being raised in Portland, OR, going to school in Savannah was a huge eye-opener.

In 2000, I married the love of my life. We have three awesome kids who keep us busy. I’m lucky enough that Alison is a Flight Attendant with Alaska Airlines; we get to travel a ton.

We’re based in White Salmon, WA, USA, but I’m willing to travel just about anywhere for photography.

Thanks,

- Eric
