Meet Eric Palmer — Your Local Visual Storyteller

For over 30 years, Eric has told the Pacific Northwest's story through an editorial lens — from the volcanic bluffs of the Columbia Gorge to the vineyards and small businesses that define this region. That storytelling instinct now shapes every project, helping businesses in Oregon and Washington connect with their customers through authentic, compelling visuals. I also work as a flight attendant for Horizon Air, part of the Alaska Air Group network. That means I can travel almost anywhere they fly, often at little or no extra cost to you. Flight attendant plus photographer equals unique travel and advertising content.

Personal Life and Adventures:

My career started early. In 1990, while still a junior in high school, I landed my first job with Hyster Lift Company. They asked me to photograph the Pacific Northwest for work. That job sparked a passion that shaped my whole career.

Travel has always been in my blood. Today, I fly with Horizon Air, a regional carrier in the Alaska Air Group network. So far, I've visited 35 states and 15 countries — and I'm just getting started on my world travels.

I love sharing my passion for travel with others. My wife (also a flight attendant) and I run a YouTube channel called CaptureAndCarryOn.

I studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design and earned a BFA in Photography in 1995. I grew up in Portland, OR. Moving to Savannah for school opened my eyes and shaped how I see the world.

In 2000, I married the love of my life, Alison. We have three kids who keep us on our toes. Alison is also a flight attendant with Alaska Airlines, so we get to explore the world together.

Our home base is White Salmon, WA — a beautiful town in the heart of the Gorge. But I'm always ready to travel for a shoot, capturing unique moments and stunning landscapes wherever the job takes me. Alison and I also run a YouTube channel, @CaptureAndCarryOn — check it out.
