Pacific Northwest Travel Photography for Editorial & Tourism Clients

From the waterfalls and vineyards of the Columbia River Gorge to the coastlines, high desert, and mountain towns beyond, the Pacific Northwest is one of the most visually diverse regions in North America — and one of the hardest to capture well without local knowledge of light, season, and access.

I'm Eric Palmer, a Savannah College of Art and Design-trained photographer and videographer based in White Salmon, Washington, working with editorial publications and tourism brands who need authentic, publication-ready imagery of the region.

What sets this partnership apart: I also work as a flight attendant for Horizon Air, the regional carrier within the Alaska Air Group network. That means I already have low-cost access to destinations across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Northern California, Nevada, and Western Canada — so multi-location assignments can be scoped without the standard day-rate travel premium most traveling photographers carry.

For Editorial Clients

I write as well as I shoot — a rare combination that makes for faster, cleaner editorial collaboration. My regional home base gives me deep, current knowledge of the Columbia River Gorge's wineries, breweries, trails, and seasonal shifts, and I'm actively building bylines and photo credits with regional outlets like Gorge Magazine and Portland Monthly, with an eye toward national placements at publications such as Sunset, Condé Nast Traveler, and Atlas Obscura.

Editorial services include:

  • Destination features and photo essays, shot and pitched together

  • Seasonal and event coverage across the Gorge and greater Pacific Northwest

  • Quick-turnaround assignments for time-sensitive editorial calendars

  • Access to less-photographed locations across the Alaska Air Group route network

For Tourism & Hospitality Brands

Destination marketing runs on a steady supply of authentic, on-brand imagery — not just a single hero shoot. I work with wineries, breweries, distilleries, lodging properties, and tourism boards across the Gorge and Pacific Northwest to build ongoing photo and video libraries for web, social, and campaign use, drawing on video production experience from my own YouTube channel, CaptureAndCarryOn.

Tourism & hospitality services include:

  • Property, tasting room, and destination photography for web and marketing use

  • Short-form video content for social and campaign use

  • Seasonal content refreshes to keep marketing libraries current

  • Multi-property or multi-region coverage with reduced travel costs
